Over 15 years of

Founded by Missy Porteous, MS, RDN, CDE, LifeQuality Nutrition began 15 years ago with the mission to help each patient achieve the highest quality of life possible. Missy, with her deep passion for elevating patient care, saw an increasing need for more personalized, effective and regular medical nutrition therapy within local healthcare settings.

In the early years, LifeQuality Nutrition focused on meeting this gap, achieving positive patient outcomes time and time again. With the addition of a highly skilled and supportive team, it became apparent that LifeQuality could have a more meaningful impact on patient’s lives. Through Missy’s leadership and vision, the company grew to
meet the expanding needs of medical groups and health plans, earning a trusted reputation for excellence.

As the company matured, LifeQuality, Inc. recognized that the future of healthcare lies in collaboration and shared responsibility. LifeQuality Nutrition embraced a cooperative model, giving RD specialists and support staff  ownership in the business. This approach further strengthened their commitment to providing exceptional, patient-centered care. Joyce Berenson

Joyce earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and completed her dietetic internship at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Joyce is an active member of the American Diabetes Association, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and the American Association of Diabetes Educators.

Before transitioning to dietetics, Joyce spent 14 years in the health insurance industry before returning to school to follow her passion for nutrition and its impact on health. Her work at a diabetes outpatient center inspired her to pursue certification as a Diabetes Educator. She provides expert counseling on cholesterol control, weight management, heart disease, kidney disease, and other nutrition-related conditions.

Joyce believes in a personalized approach to diabetes management, moving beyond outdated "one-size-fits-all" meal plans. Her goal is to help patients incorporate sustainable, enjoyable dietary changes into their everyday lives.

Karina Favela is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator with over 10 years of experience in clinical nutrition. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Loma Linda University and has gained expertise across various clinical settings, allowing her to meet the diverse needs of her patients.

Specializing in renal nutrition and diabetes management, Karina is committed to providing personalized, culturally sensitive dietary guidance. She stays up to date with the latest nutrition research and is passionate about educating and empowering her clients.

Beyond her work, Karina enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, and engaging in outdoor activities. She believes that "healthy eating is a way of life" and emphasizes creating simple, realistic, and sustainable nutrition habits.

With over 30 years of experience in the health and fitness industry, Tracy Granberry is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Personal Trainer dedicated to helping clients achieve their health goals. She holds certifications in weight management from both the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).

Tracy’s expertise spans chronic disease management, weight loss, heart health, pre-op bariatric and sports performance nutrition. She believes that proper nutrition and regular exercise are essential for overall well-being and takes a personalized approach to help clients optimize their health.

Whether you're managing a chronic condition, aiming to improve athletic performance, or simply striving for better health, Tracy provides tailored guidance to maximize results in the least amount of time.

Dalila Ruiz is a dedicated Registered Dietitian with a Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Loma Linda University and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from La Sierra University. She has been practicing as a dietitian for four years and brings a strong background in both clinical and community nutrition.

Growing up in Southern California, Dalila witnessed firsthand the need for compassionate, culturally sensitive healthcare. Her experience working with Riverside-San Bernardino County Indian Health’s Nutrition & WIC programs has shaped her patient-centered approach. She specializes in diabetes education, helping individuals manage their blood glucose while still enjoying their favorite foods.

Dalila is passionate about empowering her clients to take control of their health through realistic, sustainable dietary habits.

Melissa is a highly experienced Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with 20 years in the field, specializing in pediatrics, sports nutrition, eating disorders, and gastrointestinal disorders. She holds a Master of Public Health in Nutrition and is currently a doctoral candidate in Preventive Care at Loma Linda University.
In addition to her clinical work,

​Melissa is a full-time professor at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and an adjunct faculty member at Crafton Hills College. She is passionate about health literacy and empowering clients to manage chronic conditions through evidence-based nutrition and personalized coaching. Her goal is to provide practical, sustainable strategies to help individuals achieve long-term wellness.

Sherri Russell is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with over 20 years of experience specializing in clinical and medical nutrition therapy. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Loma Linda University and a Master’s in Human Nutrition from the University of New Haven. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Sherri’s passion for nutrition began in her late teens when she realized the profound impact of diet on health. She believes that proper nutrition is the foundation for wellness, regardless of a person’s medical condition. Whether working with individuals managing diabetes, metabolic syndrome, gastrointestinal disorders, or weight concerns, Sherri tailors her approach to each client’s unique needs.

Her mission is to help patients achieve their health goals through evidence-based nutrition strategies, empowering them to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
